We call them gutty's in Scotland :)

Not had a slingshot since I was a kid (over 26yrs)
I dont know why but one night I had a thought about them so I went looking on the net & found videos by Joergsprave, Bill Hays & PFS............My mind was blown! I knew I needed a gutty in my life lol.

Being the thrifty ever creative type I decided I could make one...............and that I did.
I am so happy with this, I just got my BB's earlier today & been over the den getting my eye in on some old cans..............I love it!
It is safe to say I am hooked :D

Both are made from pliers :D
The last picture that shows the 2nd frame, the picture below(not a good pic I know) shows them in their original form.

The "two chunks of metal" which I assume you mean for the fork tips are cut off from the ends of the pliers handles then they get welded back on lol.

No! They are still just lovely bare steel that will gain character as they age.

Its too late for for me :)
I actually started making a wood natural first but got distracted with the plier builds.
Not finished with the natgat yet prolly gonna tweak the tips down some, smooth her out some more & I need to get some oil, but I had to put some bands on it to test out............. Feels great I luv it!
