My first ever Slingshot Trade.

Just opened my first ever trade on a web forum.

I agreed with GunGuy to trade some of my poorly made lanyards for one of his bulletproof shooters.

And that's what I got:

Two frosty beauties, nicely banded with 2040 (?! Never had this stuff before) a sheet of high quality sanding paper and a RRRAWR! zebra style pouch to safely carry one of those beauties around.

Thanks a lot Gun Guy!! I really hope you like your end of the trade.

I'll see to a shooting video on Thursday. Hopefully the weather will agree on this plan.

I'm glad you like them, I want a full report good or bad, a couple of my kids don't care for the side shooter they think it's too big. Let me know what you think maybe I need to scale it down a little. I forgot to mention the sandpaper is there just in case you scratch one, that's how you get the frosted look.

Just had my first fail with this kind of handset. Didn't pay attention to the alignment of the loops and one slipped out...
Slapped me right across the face. Yay! Glad my wife isn't around and I'm off for work. She'd rub it in my face... Again and again....

Thanks for the hint, GG. I really like the sideway frame. just have to get some practise.

Wow those are pretty cool! I might have to organize a trade with GG to get some of that material.
Also, just out of curiosity has anyone tested that "bulletproof" claim or is that just what the slings are made of?

The material is referred to as bullet proof glass but is really thick acrylic. It comes in a variety of thicknesses for different levels of protection. I have heard rumor that there is some that can even withstand an RPG.

This stuff is the inner core of "bullet resistant" glass there is no such thing as bullet proof. I have several different thicknesses of this stuff too.

Do they have stuff that stops a 50 cal at close range? I remember back when the stuff only stopped handguns.

It's classified, if I told you they, ahhh never mind.:D



Actually I was on the commercial side of most of the testing not military, but just seeing what a 50 does to armor plating I find it hard to believe there is glass out there that could stop one.

I'd say it depends on the projectile. if it shatters it may loose enough energy to be stopped after some layers. but I dunno how many layers that would be.

stupid T-On-f***ing-line. had to restart teh upload like 5 times... what's the sense of payin' for a 16K DSL when all ya get is 3k and regular connection failures....:mad::mad::mad:

Welcome to #Neuland ! The first proper internet line I came in touch with was a full duplex 100 mbit line on a holiday in sweden. It was a provider called BBB if I remember correctly. The cost was about 20 DM a month. That was in 1998, nearly 20 years ago!!!!!!! We still don't have that kind of quality here! 100 mbit upstream is only possible with business contracts and start at around 450€/month. Applaus to the German Telekom and it's owner the CDU, effectively blocking all innovation since 20 years.
