This is the second slingshot for the Erklärbär Thorsten.;)

This is a design of Tom Kretschmer and seems to be a popular frame among the german facebook slingshot group. Nevertheless, Thorsten asked for this design and he sent me a plate of phenolic micarta (Trespa) and beech wood( slightly rotten by fungus ) i don´t know the term for it...gestockte Buche in german...well.
The beech sheet was a bit small so i had to make it bigger... i cut it in various pieces, placed those pieces in my resin casting form and filled the gaps with blue resin.
I added yellow plastic spacer for more color.
I used 3 layers of clear casting resin to give it a finishable coating .
I did not polish in on a wheel, i wasn´t sure if the coating was thick enough for that.
so sanded to 1000 grit and then polished it by hand.

As a small addition i made a matching lanyard bead from the cut-offs.

    Pictures, pictures pictures...
    Thanks for watching.

Incredible work bud. Perhaps you need to make a shop tricks thread.

The colours and contrasts contours and grain just dance : how do you do it? That’s just me saying it’s magic.

Wood + resin scales are not really a new thing.
That´s why i usually don´t take fotos while building it...
these are the plates at the start and after cutting them into geometric pieces...i filled the gaps with the resin and i had to press the pieces down, because they float in resin :D
After that, its just simple lamination. :)
