I've finally finished the X-Hammer. I took a gold paint pen and gilded it a little before I applied the superglue finish. I ended up banding it with 4 1/2" wide TBG straight cut bands attached through the holes of a normal pouch. The bands go forward from the mounting lugs and then back through the frame to draw and shoot. It actually shoots very well. I didn't know what to expect, but I'm quite pleased. I'm going to pick up a 3" hole saw and make a couple more for a couple of people. Here is the slingshot and my nephew with it drawn.

This is the first time someone actually shows a "new" design.

Not beautiful, but i like the idea behind it very much.

With bands pulling in all 4 directions i bet it´s nearly impossible to hit the frame.

But i think it "deserves" a unique pouch with 4 holes, to make it complete.

nice one!

Thanks for the comments. I thought about a 4 hole pouch, but this one works well and the grip is natural. If it had an X shape, a dog bone shape or a round pouch, I think it would be awkward to hold the pouch. It seems to be accurate and consistent when shooting. I'm going to make a couple more when I get my scroll saw back up and running right. I might play around with pouch design and such on them. I'm going to give one square mounting bosses for the bands and slots for the ties so the tying process is easier. As far as I am concerned, this is not a new design. There are other round slingshots out there. It's just my version.

Yes, wrist braces are legal here in the US. I've thought about it, but the way it is constructed would not not easily lend itself to including a wrist brace. I might be able to slot the pistol grip and secure a 1/4" aluminum or G10 plate that extends aft, but I couldn't go much thicker than that. The handle is only 1/2" thick at the top.

Overall an amazing slingshot, great work. Your major negative is the verry high 'fork height' and it must be causing some serious force on your wrist. A brace would be a great addition. Id recomend attaching it from the base of the handle not the middle of the circle but since they are illegal here i havent had any chances to try adding one myself.

Seriously thats just pathetic why would you be allowed to have a slingshot without the support!!!!!

Thats like having a shotgun without the shoulder butt it just should not be.

Uk laws are retarded with the crossbow too you can buy one without the licence but you need a licence to own one. I tell ya only a human can make such idiotic laws.

I think its an attempt to 'limit' how powerfull slingshots can be, stupid thing is that all slingbows are legal as is Joergs RTAZS and simila designs. Stupid I know but would you expect any less from a country that already bans lasers, bb guns, replica guns, buttterfly knives and calls a potato cannon a class A firearm?

No i call it human stupidity at it's finest. I dont know the laws for every country but every one of them has there own version of control the only place i know to have fare and sensable laws is alaska.

Your suggestion for a brace mounted to the sides is a good one. I'm waiting for some new parts for my scroll saw before I start another one. I will try to incorporate the brace into the next one. And..... in answer to your PM, that is my nephew in the pictures. I AM 41 and look a helluva lot older than the nephew.
