I tried hard to finish this new toy for the Sunday video... but it was too much work.<br><br>Five of the eight "barrels" are working!<br><br>All you have to do is to press the trigger on the B+D power screwdriver, and the bolts are on their way. 80 milliseconds per shot. Is this the fastest full auto crossbow yet?<br><br>You hold the weapon like a machine gun, really.<br><br>I am excited by the accuracy - the groups are very tight. <br><br><embed pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2P4fNOoyaV0" width="425" height="350" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" quality="high" scale="exactfit"></embed><br><br><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MQwheBYklfQ/UQ984IZ5XFI/AAAAAAAAChw/n8Bb5pE4n9c/s1600/%2528bolts1.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D08v5iRISxM/UQ984BgenRI/AAAAAAAACh0/SqiSjdPVb6k/s1600/8bolts2.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c_xnSzp8v-E/UQ984DLqXSI/AAAAAAAACh4/rviDKQ4jWOY/s1600/8bolts3.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br>Will max out the rubber and add some cool looks. The weapon will premiere next Sunday!<br><br>

It looks as if you were inspired by the upcoming movie on the 12. february?<br> Or have they been inspired by you? <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_lol.gif" alt="Laughing" longdesc="7"><br><br>I am very excited about your film next Sunday, maybe we can see some slow<br>motion pictures about the bolts flying...

The screwdriver has 7,2 Nm power, more than enough really. I can remove/refasten it with just one screw, so charging is no problem. But I can probably fire thousands of bolts with one battery charge.<br><br>Slomos are the ONLY way how you can see the bolts in flight. I think I can fire them at maybe 40 m/s (44cm barrel length). This means that a shooting distance of 10 meters will see three bolts in flight, simultaneously. <br><br>

Great Job Joerg! I like this weapon, maybe the 4-shot crossbow could be adapted to an eight shot crossbow. <br><br>I wonder if you could loose the drill, and use tubing on a drum to turn the gun?<br><br>Brian<br><br><br>

Tried that... doesn't work well. The power scewdriver only costs about 30 bucks, and does the job just fine.

Wouldnt it be possible to easily turn your 4-arrow crossbow into a "machinegun-slingshot" aswell?

There is enough room to simply use your fingers, but I plan to make a push rod cocking device. Quicker this way.

    OK, thanks.<br>Thinking about a "push 8 rods cocking device" - you are strong ! <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_silent.png" alt="silent" longdesc="25"><img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Rolling Eyes" longdesc="14"><img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" longdesc="15">

Well, that would be a little much. Draw weight, when maxed out, will be around ten kilos per barrel. Makes 80 kilos total. I think the handle would break clean off under that strain. <br><br>

I now have six barrels on it, two to go... takes me two hours to complete one. A lot of work, really, and I start with just plain wood.
