What should I do with this big, beautiful chunk of Red Oak?

    Looks like a good piece to get a Moorhammer out of it. Can' t really see how big it is on the pic 'caus there is nothing to compare with but i guess it is real big.

    You should make a slingshot out of it. <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_razz.gif" alt="Razz" longdesc="9"><br>Make a nice hamerhead slingshot out of it, but dry it before.

    <div>Sorry, I should have put something in the pic for scale. It's a monster. The base is like 4 inches across, and each of the forks are about 2 1/2 inches. I cut it with some sort of hammerhead in mind, but I've never made one and I hardly have any tools. I'm trying to figure out how to cut out the rough shape. This one will be very labor intensive, but hopefully worth it. I love Red Oak.</div><div class="clear"></div><div class="signature_div">

    No power tools!! <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_eek.gif" alt="Shocked" longdesc="5"> I made it once with a piece of <a href="http://theslingshotforum.forumotion.com/t1428-what-kind-of-wood-is-this?highlight=what+sort+of+wood" class="postlink">TRUNK</a> and like pasquale said, i made a <a href="http://theslingshotforum.forumotion.com/t1456-wiishot-first-natural-board-cut?highlight=WiiShot" class="postlink">SLINGSHOT</a> out of it... Almost two weeks working on it to get it finished. <br>I will use this<br><img src="http://www.bois.com/media/188778/360x300-ciseaux.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br>to do the most of the carving, then a knive, rasp, file, etc,...
