I'm currently using some 8mm steel balls.

However I was given around half a dozen 15mm steel balls and I had real fun with these in my Pocket Rocket from Gamekeeper John.
I was also more accurate when using the bigger lumps of steel.

What size and type of balls are you using? Do you use different balls for say plinking, target and hunting?

I use stones for just plinking. I prefer .44 lead for target work. Steel ball I have to buy, but I can cast my own lead.

Cheers ....... Charles

I use 10mm steelballs for target shooting. I like the size and its perfect for my die cut pouches from performance catapults.

you don´t have access to ebay there?
a lot of people are selling catapultammunition there.

i only use stones atm, but i will swap to steelballs. i don´t find lead practical enough...if you hit a hard target it gets bend and you can´t use it again maybe. i also can´t meld it and forge new bulltes, so i think steel will do the best job.

P.S: Would be nice if you stick to the english language.

Yea, i know. I saw that Duka is from my language area and asked him something about marbles. I came across idea of carve two little crooses on oposite sides of marbel, so, when it hits target, it could burst in pieces and make more damage, like dum-dum bullet (if that is english name for it). Do you think it is possible?
Cheers

In China shop in my town i get bag of 100 pieces for 1 euro - so, they are cheap . Dont know about steelbals, but I am shure they are far expensive than 1 euro for 100 pieces.
Target is at least 10 meters away with some blanket behint to amortize impact and collect ammo on the ground under, so there is no worry. I also shooted several times in flat concrete wall from around 5 meters, and particles flew everywhere but in my direction. Anyway, you can put on some funky sunglassses and go for it
Cheerz

I got me marbles, and all assorted sizes of ball bearings and other metal slingshot rounds. I like rocks aswell, but they sorta eat the pouches up with repeated use... I get some really good ball bearings from my work, not sure of the size, but some are a bit bigger than marbles! and heavy as hell lol I would hate to be a rabbit taking one of them to the dome

i use 16mm for target shooting and 20mm for destruktion and other fun!
no matter what you shoot, the ball should always be faster than 70m/s.

Well, not everyone breaks, only those who find it way to sam rock or wall, but not all. And when they do, it is excitement to me . I thonk they would look awesome on slo-mo video! Any chance to see them smashing on slingshot channel?
Cheers!

Marbles have been very reliable for me and they are cheap here, 100 for a dollar. I'm sure there's better deals than that around. I've tried rocks but they curve so much!
