This is my fourth slingshot so far, my first natural. I've noticed that most naturals are derived from forks, so I jumped on the chance to do a side-shooter just for the sake of being different.

It's still in progress... I'm trying to decide what to do about the large empty space inside. I could cut the bump off, but I kind of like the bit of natural protection it gives my hand. The forks are pretty low, but I've seen lower. The handle is probably going to get a leather wrap.

Any comments or suggestions?

weird it is true, looks like something coming out of space. In the second pic it looks alive and staring at me . Nice and original.

It's actually weirder in person. When I was rasping away and broke into the hollow middle, I began wondering when I would uncover the eyes.
I could do some more drastic cutting and make it look more normal, but I'm afraid that if I do that I might not like it as much and then there would be no going back. So, it remains a Space Frog.

I think You should keep it like that, it makes it more unique, I'm pretty sure no one has the same design haha

    A wonderful ss
Looks like an alien head, but spacefrog sounds cool.
Natural forks are much more interesting than cut-outs, everyone is unique.
Where did you find the wood?

We had a wicked series of storms come through recently and there were limbs down everywhere. This one in particular came from our local park. It's Sycamore, I believe. That's usually a softer wood, but this is a weird knot and it's twisted into something much denser than usual. The grain all over it looks like whirled fingerprints. Probably the result of a blight when it was younger... kind of like tree cancer.

Looks like frozen piece of alien meat. , looks like it will bite from behind, when you hold it in hands.
You can store ammo in its mouth. is is hollow?

Probably could. The 'mouth' is about 1 1/2" in diameter, roughly spherical. I might be able to rig up a closure of some sort.
