With everything except clothes, toiletries and some minimal cooking stuff packed for the move, it can be challenging to keep myself amused waiting for the big move day. But I have discovered a few pastimes that can help while away the hours...

    1. Fly hunting using newly arrived mail
    2. Cheerio derby (Apple Jacks works for this too)
    3. Full-contact cardboard box Tetris
    4. Clothes hanger sculpture
    5. Identifying the 'mystery meat' in the freezer
    6. Holding my cat above my head and singing, 'Circle of Life'
    7. Determining how many times you can stick packing tape to your forehead before it won't stick anymore (47)

If y'all can think of anything else I can do to keep amused- especially since all of my slingshot stuff is already packed, please let me know.

Ah moving, just finished that process.
    heres my suggestions

    -build a Packing box fort
    - make a harmonica out of wax paper and a comb
    - nap
    - contemplate sticking two cats together with packing tape (notice I said contimplate)
    - tease cats with packing tape ball on a string
    - nap again
    - complain profusely about having to move (repeat as necessary)
    - snooze (like a nap but longer)
    - make a ball out of packing tape, see how long you can throw it in the air for without dropping it (or losing interest)

I have three of them already.

I would except that the wax paper is already packed.

Agreed, and I'm actively engaged in that pastime quite a bit as of late.
That has already happened naturally. And it was three cats involved. Three of them got into a box that was in bad shape so it was ridiculously taped together. They got all of the tape off, got it on each other, and all hell broke loose. Imagine a genetic blending of a Mercedes emblem and an electric mixer.
Again, it's happened, and it just encourages the little bastards to tear up more of the boxes. I hate cats.

    Yep.
Aye, y'all have had your fill of it already, haven't you?

    I like that idea!
Too late- I already lost interest.

Definitely had my fill of moving, and probably gonna have to do it again in 6 months time. Crappy housing availability.

    Supposing there's plants left:
Why not spend an hour or two
    on cursing, swearing and blaming
    the plant for everything?
    (even the cat's behaviour?)

    That might help a lot!

    Greetings to your boredom,

    Be

When I was moving last (and having to commute 800 miles every week for two months :( ) I taught myself to play the harmonica. Its a sad lonely figure thats playing a harmonica whilst eating a Mcdonalds sat in a motorway service station at 3 in the morning! But hey, its a skill I have now :)

You could always spend time marking up all the boxes with strange contents. Instead of 'kitchen', 'ornaments' etc. Mark them with 'bondage dungeon', 'Fragile - live crocodile eggs' things like that. Will make it amusing to see the removal mens faces anyway.

I recommend applying alcoholic beverages to the mouth and throat area liberally, repeating as necessary.

    I always liked these:

    * 4:00 Wallow in self pity
    * 4:30 Stare into the abyss
    * 5:00 Solve world hunger - tell no one
    * 5:30 Jazzercize
    * 6:30 Dinner with yourself (don't cancel that again)
    * 7:00 Wrestle with self loathing
    * by 9:00, lay in bed staring at the ceiling while slipping slowly into madness

Books! They're portable and can use any light source, from sunlight to candles. There are books about *everything*, so there should be some topic or type of tale to satisfy.

Dude, I have some 3,000 books in here- all sealed in cardboard boxes. Half of my move is books.

You could always read a ridiculous thread about a kid that wants to kill things but hasn't the required skill, that's a waste of time. Not a good or entertaining waste of time, but a waste none the less;).

That actually worked quite well today. And while I was doing that, Toni was busily packing some of the last of the household things. The only time she needed me to interfere was when she needed a box stacked out of the way.

It's good to be the king.

This is normal- a bit of math.

    111,111,111 X 111,111,111 = 12,345,678,987,654,321

    A palindrome is the answer.

You could lose a day working out palindromes (where a number or sentence is read the same forwards or backwards).

    /Did-I-do-O-God-did-I-as-I-said-Id-do-Good-I-did
    Or
    Do-O-God-no-evil-deed-Live-on-Do-good
    Or even
    Birdrib

If you get started you will run out of years.
