Hello All,
I know Joerg has probably already done this and I haven't seen the the video.
I love the monster slingshot that Joerg built, but wan't to build it for a friend that has never shot a slingshot.

I was thinking of a sliding fork pistol model like the one Ameevis has on the blue print page.
Just bigger with a different angle on the mechanism so it opens wide enough.
It would need to be able to fit in the long pocket in the back of the golf bag.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Tim
I saw THIS vid... it is a spud gun. We could never reach that power with a slingshot crossbow but the vid i so cool.

    Thanks for the replys.
I think a repeater launcher would be great.
I should have thought of it before but Joerg's hand held cannon would shoot a golf ball very well.
Tim

I dont know if its the same for Joergs cannon but my trigger/lock doesnt swing open enough to let a golfball trough. And its not really "pistol-size". I think to shoot a golfball with any particular power or accuracy you would need something much bigger than a pistol. Ive actually been thinking about making a Blunderbuss Junior for golfballs and other stuff but I havent started the making yet...

Good luck building! I can see in your avatar that you have made some really nice weapons already

I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I have started on my Blunderbuss Junior but had to stop for the new year. I will post some photos later of my progress so far.

Trigger closed The barrel before finishing the cuts for the groves and gluing.
The barrel showing the glue joints
I will be working on it this week in the evening and will post more photos.
I'm thinking of a sabot that is part of the gun. It will shoot golf balls from the front lip and steel balls could be loaded in the inside.
There is also the possibility of shooting with both balls in the sabot and a golf ball in front.
The strings will be attached to the sides of the sabot at the front. I am planning to use the loop side a lock hasp mounted on the back of the sabot to engage the sear.
I hope this will work. I would love to know what Joerg thinks about my crazy idea.
Tim

This will work, good job!

You can skip the sabot if you use an aluminum or steel rod instead of paracord. Simply put tubular rubber over the ends (the part of the rod that stick out), and wrap tightly with flat rubber strips. Then attach two wodden "catch blocks" to the end of the slot so the rubber protected rod hits the blocks.

A slight "U" shape works best.
