Joerg, can you add a vendors section? This would cut down on the posts in the homemade section of profit seeking slingshot makers and leave it to original designs. Thanks

I think the "homemade" section is for the original non commercial designs. I guess I went the other way round.

I don't want to make the same mistake as in the SSF, where vendors got special privileges and paid for that. It caused nothing but problems and had to be dropped, ultimately.

Jörg

    Joerg,

On the same token, are craftsman who happen to sell slingshots going to be burnt because they show off what they make in the home made section?? Just because a man makes more than one of his original designs does not make it any less original.

Speaking purely for myself here, but I like to show off what I have made and if someone wants to purchase it, they know where to find me-I am not pushing my wares. I don't want to feel as though I am being lumped into the corner of "evil profit seeker" when the truth of the matter is that I love slingshots and this is a place where other enthusiasts gather to share our mutual love of the sport and craft.

I think that this should be addressed before any SSF type bickering over "vendor" vs. "enthusiast" BS arises. This could be malcontent brewing that might ought to be taken care of before it ruins yet another forum and the culture that permeates it.

Thanks Joerg. Flippinout, I don't consider profit "evil". Another section gives opportunities for those that want to sell. Just my 2 cents.

    Old School,

Sorry but I have been a bit wounded and offended at other sites for being a vendor. My passion began as, and still is slingshots! Period. I choose to create slingshots as a vocation, but also do so out of creative desire and love of slingshots.
I have pink skin when I am lumped into the category of something "less" than a true enthusiast. It is not about profit, only the inner desire to create slingshots.
If the gun(or slingshot) were ever held to my head and I were forced to choose between being simply an enthusiast or a slingshot designer/craftsman, the choice would be simple.

I will take being a slingshot enthusiast anyday.

Thanks for your understanding and I will try to relax.

I really had no idea that you had problems in the past. I just thought a section for selling made sense. It would start to suck if all you saw on here was cheesy sale ads. I personally like seeing unique one of kind slingshots.
