The great thing about this forum is that there are so many great builders there is no shortage of inspiration!
Feeling inspired I built these two naturals. They are nowhere near as nice as the ones produced by the people who inspired them but Im pretty happy with the way they came out.

So, inspired by Sadereth, this is hawthorn with a birch endcap. The 'spacer' is made by mixing cherry sawdust with epoxy:

In some natural light, I like the 'eye' on the back:

The second one is inspired by Bob Fionda. I had a random facebook friend request from him. Some nice work so here is my take on a 'V' frame:

I really like the grain on this piece of wood:

The shape is surprisingly ergonomic too:

The first is finished with raw linseed and beeswax, the second has a CA finish. Im not sure what wood the second is, I do have a pic of the fork somewhere so will post it later.

    Thanks

The Sadereth classic is nice, but I like the “V” style most. Very good work on both of them.

    Thanks for sharing

Scoobs, your skill is progressing quickly! I really dig em both, the V is so sweet, thats the best CA finish I've seen.

Those are both great, but like everyone else, I'm really digging that V shaped slingshot. That is really nice. Great work VW!

Thank you everyone for the great comments. I always think its difficult when you try to put your own spin on someone elses work that you respect. So with that in mind I am really happy to have got positive feedback from both Saderath and Bob :)

Yes the 'V' is surprisingly comfortable and secure to hold in finger support style, hammer grip is out of the question though!

Im glad people like the finish but its only the second time Ive used CA so not sure what Im doing right! I use the cheapest superglue I can find in discount stores. I bought 8 3ml tubes for £1, wrapped my finger in cling film and rubbed it on! Quick sand from 600-1200 grit then hand polished with car paint restorer.

Thanks again for the nice comments :)
