After every shot using my slingshots with thera-band gold, the flat rubber twists like a spiral and i always untwist it before i shoot it again.

I was wondering if it made a difference if it is twisted or not.
you could do a simple test over the chrony with twisted bands vs flat bands.

Maybe you could do a video testing this theory.

Thank you, this helps a lot

Campbell

I think that you have to be concerned hitting your fork with twisted bands rather with speed difference.
I too have to untwist my bands now and then after a shot.
No big deal. Also tubes do this. That's the way it is.

I know, it's annoying, I don't actually know if it makes any difference as it always seemed just wrong to me to shoot it twisted so I always untwist it in fear of flyers and forkhits.
Anyone knows a way to avoid it maybe? I think it happens more often with OTT slingshots.

I think nobody will recommend shooting with twisted bands/tubes.

With tubes it's different than with bands - they don't twist so often, but on the other hand it's sometimes difficult to spot that they are twisted.
Any irregurality or "new concept" is possibly dangerous...

I know Joerg had a anti- handslap system in one of his video' s. Sorry i couldn' t find it. That system was made out of a long and thin strip of Thera- band attached at the pouch and the other side, at his wrist. If i remember, someone asked for a " less-noise-system" for hunting and i suggested that one. Now i am pretty sure it would work great as a " anti-twisted bands" . A 3 in 1, in fact...
If you can confirm what i am trying to explain, Joerg, it would be nice. Thanks in advance.

The only thing you can expect from twisted Bands us your ammo Comming back at you. The pouch could turn instead of releasing the ammo, and then the steelball will stay in the pouch, releasing on its way back to you.
