Hi,
I killed some tubesets and was thinking what to do with the short tube pieces.
Normally I shoot tapered tubes (one piece, looped on one side).
Sometimes they break on the knot or pouch attachement.
So I made a Bandset of four short pieces of tubes.

Here the tubes for one side.

I streched the shorter tube with a sawing ring pliers (a tong which opens).
Now I put the ends of the longer tube in the streched hole (about 2 cm)

This hold very good in place, I couldn`t draw the tubes out.

But to make sure it holds, I wrapped it with TBB

To protect the attachement I put a piece of tube over it.

Now it`s finished.

I have to test it.

Yes, i wonder if its strong enough, then its a very clean way to build tapered tube sets!

I think the trick is, that the single tube is getting thinner while streching and holds the two inner tubes (they are less streched) very good.
I couldn`t pull them out even without the TBB and the small piece of tube around.

Very interesting and smart idea. Since i am into slingshots the different ways to attach them seems to be endless. And now, recycling them... Great thinking Zwillie!!!

Oh, I found out something new.

Normaly you can just taper the tubes by making a loop.
You just can vary the length of the single and double area.

But...

With this method you can also use different tube sizes on one bandset.
The advantage is, that the looped area mussen`t have the double ringarea of the single tube.

I have to try out if this is really an advantage

Have you tried it? I wonder how a 1845 loop and 2050 single area would work.

@zwillie man ... really smart ... it would be possible to tapper a "straight tube" combining 2 different resistances ... I mean without the loop ... isn't it ?

Arturo this is what I was thinking off.

I just have two sizes of tubes here, the Dankung 3060 and MR ultra 4064.

I made you a picture of the two possible combinations.

The two tube types got nearly the same ring area, so this makes no sense for "tapering" (but I got no other sizes here).
Doesn`t hold very strong together, easy to draw the inner tube out of the outer one.
The 3060 as outer tube hold stronger (no wonder) than the MR with 4mm inner hole.
So I bended the attachement with a small strip (1cm x 5cm) TBB this holds very good.

I have tried this today with forceps, it's not easy. So far it only works on 1745 dankung for me.
I have also tried 2050 but with no luck whether I put 1745 or 2050 in the single area or even tie the damn thing down with thera band..
Still, it's a great idea for recycling my 1745:p I have to try my 1842 too some other time.
