At this point, I needed to combine the principals of the last two frames: <br><br>1. Show off the beauty of the wood<br>2. Use pre-cut lumber for ease of carving. <br><br>The result is what I'm proud to now present here.<br><br><a href="http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=10&u=17228318" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i42.servimg.com/u/f42/17/22/83/18/imag0618.jpg" border="0" alt=""></a><br><br>This is made with a core of 3/4" Red Oak, and 1/4" thick slabs of Bolivian Rosewood. IT is a much more flowing design, with thickness where it counts. When held, the fingers slide into the notches and the frame caresses the palm just so. <br><br><a href="http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=11&u=17228318" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i42.servimg.com/u/f42/17/22/83/18/imag0619.jpg" border="0" alt=""></a><br><br>After sanding the entire frame to 500 grit (extremely tedious, but worth it), the frame is rubbed with mineral oil, and then paste wax. The wax is then buffed on a buffing wheel to pack it into the wood fibers and seal the frame. <br><br><a href="http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=12&u=17228318" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i42.servimg.com/u/f42/17/22/83/18/imag0620.jpg" border="0" alt=""></a><br><br>One of the problems with the Bat-a-pult was the sharpness of the stub that juts out to complete the thumb notch. With this frame, that problem has been eliminated, as it is extremely round and smooth. <br><br>I've thrown on a set of bands made from the rubber available from Mcmaster.com, and it is extremely comfortable to fire, as well as fairly accurate as my skill picks up. <br><br>Below is the blueprint (This time, just sketched <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_redface.gif" alt="Embarassed" longdesc="10"> )<br><br><a href="http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=13&u=17228318" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i42.servimg.com/u/f42/17/22/83/18/imag0621.jpg" border="0" alt=""></a><br><br><br><br>

Hey, thanks for the nice words, guys! <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_biggrin.png" alt="Very Happy" longdesc="1"><br><br>I may try to duplicate this in another wood combination. Oak is very porous, and it contrasts too greatly with the rosewood.
