I wanted to look for powerful bands for my
Ketansa Vayuputra design slingshot. But what I have shown is the new Theraband Latex-free product line(this is non-conventional product made without natural latex, for those who have Latex alergy), and in this line Black is the strongest (equal power to Gold of Latex bands, or could be stronger. I dont have the Theraband Latex Gold to compare with it, hope Master Joerg or someone will try it and check)

Yes the Latex-free black looks cool. plus it has mat grainy texture feel.

General666, I bought it at local shops. But you can find it anywhere on ebay and amazon.
Yes this black is lot thicker than yours because this is the different product line of the same company, and the colors codes are different.

I have never tested it, but the reports I read earlier were not very positive. Maybe they changed the recipe, though! I will try to find some and test it.

So far, 100% pure latex performed the best. Any kind of additional ingredient, and the performance goes down. Let's see if this breaks the pattern!

The non latex don't seem to snap as fast if you asked me... But I find them to be more durable than their latex counterpart

Master Joerg, these bands have no latex in it. So, no question of adding something in latex.
They have tried to match the Latex performance by using completely
synthetic formulation. We shall be getting something new here as you
said. . Waiting to see what you come up with.
Thank you. see you

What i meant is that I would like the black color bands the be the most powerful of their range of products, as i prefer the color to gold, but dont want to use more than two strands or have it folded

Try it Sotiris, may be this is the band for you

Very interesting Ketansa. I have tested all types of Elastomers over the years and found that anything "Latex Free" is usually way under the performance of the Latex based bands and tubes. Maybe this time Hygenic ( Theraband Manufacturer ) has come up with a way to make Latex free elastic better then what it was. That is cool. Love trying new things. Have you "Chronied" your sets yet to see if any speed difference? Nice find BTW! Flatband

Dear friends, Uncle flatband, Joerg, and all,
Here is an elongation test of the Theraband Latex-free Black (on Melchior's request).
I took a piece of band which is 1.5cm wide and 10.8cm long. When I stretched it it elongated upto 57cm. Could have gone little bit longer if I had pulled more harder.

&

I hope this somewhat helps.
What do you think?

Hi Ketansa, this sounds not so good... 10cm Theraband Black Latex strechted up to 72cm. looks like the Latexfree is the loser in this comparison.

thanks for made this test! you can order the Latex TB form ebay! were you live?
then you can made a test with this two.

i use often OSB Board instead of ballistik gelatine! this work well. you can see how deep is the dent you dont need a chrony.

Hallo Tobias, I live in India.
The band width is 1.5cmx10.8cm . How much width are you talking about? may be if I take a wider band it will elongate more?
Another test I tried just now.
2.2cm pouch side, 2.6cm fork side, 29cm long.
It elongates 154cm before it stops pulling.

When I get the latex Theraband, I will try the dent test.
