Hey Guys,<br><br>the sun was shining yesterday...hard to believe...snow again today...but i took my chance (and my bike) and found a new location to take some new pictures.<br><br>It´s a Hammerdesign (who would have known lol), again in Zebrano.<br><br>I saw one of the Batman Films a few weeks ago and that gave me an idea for a slingshot.<br>I cut the wood so, that the border between heartwood and sapwood lies in the centerline of the slingshot. Those are the two sides of "Twoface" obviously.<br>For the Palmswell i wanted to embed his trademark, the Silverdollar.<br>Sadly a Silverdollar is way too big for that kind of Slingshotdesign, so i searched for a similar looking coin that also has the right size...and i took a quarter.<br><br><img src="http://i48.tinypic.com/2urbg48.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br><br><img src="http://i50.tinypic.com/30sfx1c.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br><br><img src="http://i46.tinypic.com/23m7ew3.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br><br><img src="http://i48.tinypic.com/1414fms.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br><br><br>There is something more <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" longdesc="2"><br>Since the cupboard i kept my slingshots in starts to get crowded...i was a bit afraid of them getting scratched, or the bands ripped.<br>So i had this idea: I ordered matching cotton bags to keep them in. But again, all the same color...if you want to pick a certain slingshot? What to do?<br>Since i had the idea to add a makers-mark to the slingshots anyway i made the same mark, just bigger, in aluminum on the lathe and searched for some additional stamps and cloth-color.<br><br>Now i can individualize each bag...keep them save and know whats inside without opening <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" longdesc="2"><br><br><img src="http://i49.tinypic.com/okc42f.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br><br><br>Cheers AnTrAxX
You really must love your slingshots, to give them such a nice home. <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_lol.gif" alt="Laughing" longdesc="7"><br><br>BTW a very nice Hammer and the coin inside the handle is so cool. <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_cheers.png" alt="cheers" longdesc="28">
Thanks <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" longdesc="2"><br><br>Those bags are even machinewashable, color will last <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_razz.gif" alt="Razz" longdesc="9"><br><br><img src="http://i45.tinypic.com/2vvw9ww.jpg" border="0" alt="">
<div>looks nice ... i mean very nice<br>very good insertion of a coin!!</div><div class="clear"></div><div class="signature_div"> <br>hmm nice slingshot!<br>maybe needs some sanding and oiling <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_lol.gif" alt="Laughing" longdesc="7"><br><a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/selfmademilitary" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">my Channel . . . . . Fudgey goodness!!!<br>Incorporating the coin is great. Would be a good thing to do for the international SS trade. Coin from the builders country.
Very good kraftsmanship, as always!<br>I like the idea with the bags, i store my shooter only in cloths and this is not very <br>honorable ... <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_redface.gif" alt="Embarassed" longdesc="10">
Do all of your slingshots have the wood burned target? Because I have been marking my slingshots with that same stamp for years <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_biggrin.png" alt="Very Happy" longdesc="1">
I had that in mind as a mark for quite some time, but i had no tools to turn such a small stamp on a lathe.<br>A few weeks ago i found a matching part to do that branding and turned a "large" target as a stamp for the bags.<br><br>Nice coincidence btw, go ahead and show one of your Slings <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" longdesc="2">
I put my hurricane hunter up a couple weeks ago but the pics are before I marked it.<br><br><a href="/t2884-hurricane-hunter">http://theslingshotforum.forumotion.com/t2884-hurricane-hunter</a><br><br><br>This was a slingshot I made when I was about thirteen or so, you can see on this one I put a brass tack in the middle of the brand.<br><br><a href="http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=15&u=18139575" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/18/13/95/75/photo_24.jpg" border="0" alt=""></a><br><br><br>
<div>Beautiful, just beautiful. Best use of a quarter I've seen in a long time too!</div><div class="clear"></div><div class="signature_div"> <br>All objects in the universe are either ammo, shooting platforms, or potential slingshot frames.<br> Of yeah, I forgot about targets</div>
Ah i see.<br>I found the hurricane, but i did not find a mark <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" longdesc="2"><br><br>The Brass-Bullseye is a cool idea <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" longdesc="15"><br><br>And thank you all for your possitive comments <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_redface.gif" alt="Embarassed" longdesc="10"> I like the idea to implement a coin into the global slingshots. But i think it will be hard on naturals that are too thin.
