I decided to build yet another slingshot from some random garbage; this time made from four pieces of an old bed frame, nine small nails, duct tape, grip tape, string, seven little rubber bands, and eight "heavy duty" rubber bands.

Although it is certainly not the best slingshot in existence it can be made very easily, without specialised tools, in a very short span of time whilst being powerful and accurate enough to break a board of (fairly thin) plywood after passing through a cardboard box located roughly ten centimeters in front of it, using a 20 euro-cent coin as ammunition from eight meters away.

.

The results of my tests so far:

- 250 shots without a single incident so far.

- It's accurate enough to reliably hit a 10X10x5 cm cardboard box at 8 meters.

- It's powerful enough to smash a pomegranate open at a distance of 8 meters.

- It's pretty fun to shoot!

Notes:

- All tests were performed using five euro-cent coins surrounded by clay as ammo.

- Would probably be useful in a SHTF or TEOTWAWKI scenario as it is easily made and moderately effective as a weapon if used with correct ammo.

- I still need to perform a plasticine penetration test.

250 shots without any incidents so far!

Results of my ammo tests against four 10x10x5 cardboard boxes:

- clay balls (light, rough, +- 9mm ø): penetrate one side of the first box.
- plastic balls (light, smooth, +- 9mm ø): penetrate the first box and dent the second.
- compressed aluminium foil balls (very light, rough, +- 9mm ø): no penetration.
- 10 euro-cent coins (light, "flat", rough, +- 20 mm ø): penetrate the first box and enter the second.
- 20 euro-cent coins (fairly light, "flat", rough, +- 22 mm ø): penetrate the first two boxes.
- 50 euro-cent coins (fairly heavy, "flat", rough, +- 25 mm ø): penetrate all four boxes.
- 1 euro coins (heavy, "flat", rough, +- 22 mm ø): penetrate all four boxes, dent the wooden backstop.
- "wrecking balls" (very heavy, rough, +- 30 mm ø): penetrate all four boxes, break when they hit my wooden backstop, dent the backstop.

*wrecking balls are made from four 50 cent coins surrounded by clay.

Update: I improved this slingshot's band-length, resulting in slightly increased consistency in terms of accuracy and power.
