I wanted a more powerful slingshot but didnt want bad handslaps. Especially because winter is coming up and a handslap on a cold hand hurts real bad, even with gloves. I like the idea of having hand protection and i have always been interested in the hand protected slingshots that Joerg had made. So i decided to make a slingshot baded off Joerg's Shield design. I hope you like it!

I started out by cuting out the main shape of the slingshot 2 times in half inch birch plywood and glueing them togeather.

I used some scrap plywood to try to come up with a comfortable hand support, but could not come up with anything that i fould very confortable for my hand. So i just decided to glue on a palmswell on the one side.

Here is what Joergs looks like-

Here i am in the midele of shaping it and tweaking it with a rasp and a file.

Here it is in the middle of sanding and as you can see the shield is now attatched, i drilled holes and used steel rod and epoxi to attatch it, it is now very strong.

Here it is fully sanded and polished.

Here i bandd it up with 2 layers of some pretty wide theraband gold, a pretty strong pull, butterfly of course. I think it turned out pretty good, not perfect but I really like it. Its not meant to be a beauty, but for power.

The Shield did a good job destroying this old Wii game.

Allong with some help from my sickle!

You did a great job on it. You say it is not a beauty but it is to me.
The only thing that makes me feel bad is the Wii destroying part. I already repared( and flashed) two Wii' s with five broken ones( with help of google). I gave them to an association for childs in need in my mother' s neighborhood.
