Fascinated by Mr.Arturos great marksmanship, I decided to try the P.F.S. style, and see if my aiming improves. First thing i needed was a P.F.S., sooooo...........

I got this rare wood, brazilian version of Purple heart. Taught to work...but strong as a rock!

I've managed to turn it into this pretty lady, 5 cm fork width, 1cm fork gap.....

And I think I'm going to destroy my thumb again.....

So I named it the P.F.S.....Purple finger smasher

If you use the rest of that purpleheart, finish it with some lacquer to bring out the purple color and to protect from uv damage and fading. I built a guitar with purpleheart, and it's still purple today. Picture attached.

captain, that is the baddest ass guitfiddle I have ever seen, and ive seen/played many! BV, it may get more purple if you heat it gently. put it in a car with windows up or low heat in the oven, mine got very purple with heat-its the Brazilian type as well. mineral spirits ruin the purple as well as ultra violet rays.

Rockslinger, I got a damn fine 4/4 purpleheart plank from cook woods out of Oregon. great selection, good prices, quick shipping. I picked my plank out of probably 40 pieces, high quality photos of nearly all available stock.

I've had similar problems trying to photograph wood. Pictures don't do it justice sometimes.
