This is incredibly cool. Do you have any plans of doing a tutorial or making the plans available?

I am getting closer to my goal (making this very reliable and durable), so maybe soon.

OK, time to enhance the pump action 20mm cal slingshot crossbow.

I exchanged the part that "pushes" the BB forward, from paracord to steel.

The paracord sometimes slid between barrel and ball, and of course it never lasted long due to the unavoidable chafing.

Also, the bands came into contact with the slide, causing early band breakage.

Now, the bands will never touch anything during "flight". Two wooden blocks catch the metal rod, which is padded by Thera Tube Silver.

This seem to last looong, I did many shots tonite.

If this works, I may be close to publish blueprints.

Personally I didn't like the original Pump action slingshot. (no offense Jorg) I thought it to be a good idea but not the best execution. In the video above you can actually see the ammo as it leaves the barrel, which means it's traveling at less than 160FPS and not very good at any distance. I do hope however that this new improved slingshot has me eating those words as I would like to see it "Bad-assed' so to speak.

No offense taken, I wasn't happy with it either. The only thing that worked great is the repeating mechanism.

This new setup will simply allow stronger bands, always the key to more power.

And the bands should last now.

We'll see!

To solve the problem of the breaking steel rod and slipping paracord if you go back to paracord but instead of having the paracord resting on the ball you could have it so the lock mechanism only holds the paracord, and have the ball in front of that. with nothing in front of the ball you need a magnet holding the ball in place. That way the paracord is not putting pressure on the ball, and it won't slip around the ball.
