So girls and guys, here is my last post for this week. First a little history why I build this slingshot.

From time to time I find myself on the “simple-shot.com” website looking at the galleries I’m always very jealous.
These little pieces of art create that felling “must have, must hold in my hand, must touch, …”
I’m sure most of you feel exact the same. But all that nice little catys are SOLD OUT.
I also really do not know if I would/ could spend 250 or 300 dollars for such a slingshot, even if they are worth every penny.
But luckily I only have one left hand (sometimes two :D) I thought, try to build myselfe my desired slingshot.
So I chose the “Maxim” design, which I like most and leveled it down to the size of my hands.

The core is 5 mm Aluminum, then 7mm homemade denim micarta, and for the palm swell on both sides
1,5 mm Aluminum and the same 7 mm denim micarta again.

The micarta is made of an old trouser of mine and between every layer a thin yellow cloth napkin

I put some double 20/40 Chinese tubes with a self made pouch on it and some small aluminum rods to secure the tubes.

I hope you like it as much as I do and you can rejoice with me about that nice little slingshot.

If you read this, sorry Mr. Master from stolen almost 99 % of your design,
but as it is for my personal use I hope you are not upset about it.

WoW... I wish for a step to step guide for this.
I always thought micarta is plastic. Now I see it really is old jeans and cloth ...laminated ? hmmm

A true beauty, certainly the nicest micarta design I have seen in a looong time. Can't believe you made this from an old pair of jeans!

LW, sure beats the guts out of what I've been working on. Mine is from bluejeans but won't look nearly as good as this.

Whoa! Blown away! That is amazing. I came across a video on YT a while ago showing 2 guys making their own denim micarta laminates for use on knife scales. Seeing it on a full slingshot is just awesome. You do realize, this ranks right up there with the work of Mr. Masters and others. You could easily sell these yourself. Such good work. And I know that process for making the denim micarta isn't easy.
