so called 'cos it's pig-ugly, mega powerful and made up from diverse body parts.

Thrown together in a hurry as I just wanted to try a 67" draw (at half-butterfly), a significant increase on my other starship. I put some 30/60 on cut to 11" active length which feels great...ultra light. I might pseudotaper them or maybe switch them to 50/80s so I don't have to draw so far back.

When I have a break from playing with it I'll tart it up a bit.

Very cool....erm...is that front end a chair leg?! Great use of the materials at hand!

I think if you ever inlaid one of you starships with a piece of your floor tiles you would have people beating down your door to buy it! :)

Dolo's on the mark - this looks like a pirate weapon - a tube-powered blunderbuss! You have such a distinct style Ruthie, I really enjoy your work.

Thanks for the lovely feedback guys. :D

Yes, the 'barrel' is the leg of a small table. I like to use reclaimed timber whenever possible. Partly 'cos I'm an eco goody-two-shoes and partly 'cos it's a long way to the nearest wood supplier!

I'm afraid I'm a bit haphazard with measurements but I'm stretching the 50/80 from 11" to 67" and it seems happy with that. So far I can say that 50/80 is one of my absolute favourites for tubing

Ruthie, mines not even wood! But it shoots like gangbusters!

I think getting those tubes stretched out long and straight makes them shoot fast, hard, and accurate! But whatever floats your boat!

Hey...that's an interesting design Ghosth. Yup, doesn't matter what the frame is made of so long as that rubber gets well stretched. Is that latex Green DubDub?

Actually my wife found that at the local second hand store for a dollar, so I have no idea what it is. It is heavier than Theraband tube red and larger. And I got enough for 2 shooters out of that piece.

I always love your work Ruthie, your 'The Goddess' of wicked cool shooters!
@ Ghosth, that thing is very nice as well. If you wanted to get fancy, just cement up the joints to lose the tape, sand it down for paint adhesion and go any color you like. I vote camo if you do! :)

Ravensbull Image is nothing, function is everything! Every time I change the rubber I end up changing the draw length to match it. So that is why joints are not glued. Granted I could lose the duct tape, but its a red green thing. I like to put a bit of duct tape on everything I make, just because.

I have considered building it in wood and making it pretty. Its in the back of my head bouncing around back there. Perhaps it will happen someday, or perhaps I'll wait until when my grandson and I do make it, it becomes his first shooter.
