Okay, I want to present to youmy new slingshot crossbow. It shoots these bolts: (Soda can for comparison)

And here is the crossbow/pistol:

Oh wait, I forgot to take it out of the box

Here it is, the FailureSling-XBow (I need a better name for this one... help?)! Yes, this is it, this little guy actually shoots those big bolts with great force! To shoot all you have to do is turn the fork 90 degrees so it looks like this:

Then you simply insert a bolt trough the muzzle and pull it back until the trigger engages. Point and shoot. The weapon also features a peek sight, a little wooden rod to adjust the trigger and an adjustable lanyard

I have only made to bolts so far; One with a flat head, wich I call the Holepuncher and a high penetration bolt with a screw (that I have to sharpen later) screwed in and secured with tape. Both is very good in close-combat, but doesnt fly straight for mor than 15-20 metres. Maybe they will fly better if they fly faster?

I applyed one layer of furniturepolish to the handle, wich is made of an oak-plank I think. Other materials used are PVC pipe, various wooden rods, 9mm high quality multiplex and few screws.

Hope you like it, cause I do Sorry for bad pics, Im no master photographer...

//Failure

    Thanks guys!

I like it because its so compact, just by upping the rubber one could make it as powerful as a big sling-x-bow, still its very small.

That's smart, it reminds me of a hawaiian sling but there's a trigger!

    Thanks CEZ
Its all in the bolts with this one, if one wants less power one could just make a shorter bolt for example to use indoors.

  7. I wouldn't say that this is a fail!
It is a great prototype!
Please could I use ur design to make one of my own?
I would give you credit!

Neither would I Actually ¨FailureSling-XBow¨ was supposed to be the name of the shooter. Maybe you have noticed that most people on the forum call me Failure instead of Failureisalwaysanoption, and I can see why! I dont know if anyone else pays attention to it but I giggle everytime I make a new slingy and someone says "Nice Failure".

If you have an idea for a better name for this weapondesign I would very much like to hear it, The FailureBow doesnt sound very professional at all.

Most sling-x-bows are not very wide, but instead they are usually very long. This one is, in unloaded condition neither wide or long. Instead all the interesting weaponry-values are in the bolts. Im thinking of tons of different variations on the bolts that I cant wait to make real.

And of course you can make one! It would make me extraordinary happy if someone wanted to take on my design. Maybe you could link to my YT channel, AlfredB666? And I promise to link back to you as soon as I can get some proper videos uploaded and get some views

also I have thought up of a design witch allows you to use sharp metal tipped bolts instead of the round plastic ones I think that you are using?

I will post it soon!

Actually this design can use sharp metaltips on the bolts, or any other tip one may want to use! You do that by drilling a hole in the bolt behind the tip. So the trigger locks in the hole and not in front of the bolt. Works like a charm!

    Hi Failure
What do you think about" FXbow" ?
The F means Failure and the Xbow means... ... Xbow!
Nice job BTW.

Mike: Oh yes I do. But I dont post it then For example I got a 6 months old short version of the Pump-repeater X-bow lying next to me right now, still not working...
TokSick: Yeah, thats a nice one! From now on we´ll know it as the FXbow
And thanks btw.

  14. wont that weaken the bolt?
you would have to use a small hole and get the bolt lined up perfectly as you pull it back
also i might as well upload my design as I have almost finished drawing it out!

Yes, the bolts get a little weak; You have to make sure you dont hit any hard surfaces, like a stone or so (wich I did... None of my two Sharp-tip bolts survived ) Therefore I would really like to see your design, is it something I can use with my weapon or do you have to change it completely?
But about pulling it straight: No problem! I shape the back of my bolts like this:

With a groove for the string and with small pits where you can grip the bolt. This way you draw it out in the same position all the way. Also I think it acts almost like fletching, adding a little extra drag on the tail of the bolts.
Btw the heads of the Holepuncher bolts are not plastic, its a mounting screw!

  16. I think that it will be a quick fix.
you probably wont have to modify your design
