I had some free time and what can we do with this...?

Correctly - building some Slingshots. :D

I build four slingies, and the one I want to show you is my last creation.

It is build from a 5 mm Aluminum plate and a block of purple heart, which I had to cut in two pieces for the laminating.

That wood is awesome; when rasping and sanding it smells sometimes like chocolate, sometimes like a bad port wine.
This wood is so hard and heavy; working with it was a pain. But I think the results speak for themselves.

First pics are only how to...

After hours of rasping and sanding...

    And voila...

The finish is with “Hard Wax Oil” I like the natural feeling of the wood.

The fork is very low, but I like to shoot it that way at the moment, for a long time no fork hits and never hit my fingers or hand.

As you can see in the titel I called it “The Diva” dont ask me why, but this name was always in my head when I build it.

And you have to admit, doesn’t it look like a fine Lady? :D

    I hope you like her...

Yes indeed!! You summoned that into this world from the Slingshot Dimension through a magical ritual involving a potion crafted from 3 pieces of TBG, a branch from an oak tree harvested in the light of the full moon, 4 steel balls, and one goat  (because you can't have a magic story without a goat involved somewhere). And suddenly it arrived in a cloud of smoke!

Or you are an amazing craftsman who turns out truly beautiful work. Either way, this is stunning :)

Lovely work! I love Purple Heart wood and the aluminium core accents the purple well.
