Linear external fixators for damage control. One of the most helpful tool of the orthopaedic surgeon. Made from surgical aluminum and steel pins and screws.
What does it have to do with slingshots? Nothing until now.

I had this idea looking to mvd's Massive copper shooter. Instead of copper, aluminum. Quite strong, but I'll not overload it on the rubberbands. The aluminum may bend.
Interesting stuff: If you remove the steel rod on the back (kept by the screws like a clamp), it will all come apart, black aluminum blocks, two aluminum rods.

For my surprise, the screws are not unconfortable for the hand. The fingers go right between each one. But maybe it will hurt after some shots. Some paracord may be necessary. Or a good glove!

Doesn't it? I've built it in about 20 minutes. Just the time to bend the fork!
    I loved the "robotic look".

Nice! I like the look of this, great job and use of material! I think that paracord on the handle would be a nice touch, like you mentioned.

In the future I shall use some cord.... Right now I am in love with all the metal and the cold feeling in the hand! Next step, bands! Flat or tubes??

Next step is to build a full robotic slingshot-arm :D

I think flatbands would look best on this slingy

Looks very very nice. Glad to be of help ;)
The one I started which should look a bit like your parallel shooter isn't finshed; all the tools I have access to are either dull or broken

    The only way"Black tubes"
Are the clamping´s are fastened enough? If you pull back the "Black tubes", the aluminum rods can turn.
    Only a thought.

Spectacular! One of my new favourites!!! Black tube for sure!!! Surgical instrument needs surgical tubes! Hopefully the clamps grip enough that the alum. doesn't twist. No paracord! It's perfect just as is. Your access to cool parts is making me jealous!!!!!
One with an adjustable, sliding arm brace would be cool!
    WHOOT!
