Hello guys I am back home for a couple of days ... resuming my practice my old abused pouch broke, so I had to replace it immediately, but as don't have the tool for making the holes I did a dog-bone holeless pouch from an old pig leather shoes
[IMG]
it works very well, I did some testing to this can top
[IMG]
and a short video shooting with it (specially for my friend tokSick, hope you are recovering OK man) ...
HERE it is

Cheers
Arturo

I have just recently seen a thread on slinghot forum about it, some people say it really makes sense but no one tested it thoroughly. Let us know how it effects bandlife?

It does indeed appear to work well... or maybe it is just your shooting that makes it look that way!
I had been considering it and with your input I shall certainly do so.

I saw that thread also and I was lucky because I didn't know how to replace my broken pouch !!!
@flipgun this is small (and lighter ) compared with the old one and I was worried to take a fork hit because it is convex but after a few shoots I realized it is not so different and I could shoot as always ... big deal for me as I don't have the tool to make the holes ...

    Seems to work great.

I figure the pouch without a hole has to be a little bit longer than the pouch with a hole because the elastic points towards your finger/thumb.

So, just to be clear, the ends of the pouch are "dog bone" shape? And this keeps the tie-off from pulling of the end?

It looks very clean! If you want to make holes instead in the future most hobby-shops sells these for a very low price, like 5-6 euro or something. But as this seems to work nice, why should you?

this is what I did, first cut a rectangle 12cm x 2cm with a roller cutter then rounding and the dog bone ends with scissors
[IMG]
@Thorsten I didn't understand too much (the clamps?), your pics are rather small, what can I report yet is that it seems the attachment is reliable pulling 3/4 butterfly, now I will see how much bands lasts and if there is abrasion issues with the contact rubber/leather on the "dog bones" ...
@Bert, yes ...
@FIAAO the nearest store is at 60km, next trip there I will buy one, it was an emergency solution ...
@tokSick keep recovering and patience my friend, my little vids are mainly to watch me (as a mirror) on how I am shooting to improve different aspects as I don't have here a ss fellow to criticize me ...

Sorry Thorsten for being so dumb !!! yes it clear from your pics on how you did it thanks ! with double bands the way you did (one in front and the other behind) is the best to avoid slipping, currently I am using single bands only for economy reasons (and of course with the 3/4 butterfly I am reaching above 90m/s with 12mm steel near 30J ! and good endurance). Apropos I heard that you actually don't have a Crony, is it? because I would like to have a timed audio or video file (a pointer to download) to test my conjecture about the simplified audio crony if you can help me to do so I would be grateful ...
Cheers
Arturo
