This is my freshest build. The second Lobster design slingshot, downscaled to 90%. It's a birthday present for my best friend. And he is a huge fan of the German football (Americans: NO handegg! :) ) club FC St. Pauli. Their colours are brown and white, hence the logo and colours of the shooter.

It's a white corian core with brownish kirinite and two sorts of dark brown wood. I am not 100% sure, but it should be grenadill and moor oak.

Dry-sanded to 800 grit, wet-sanded to 3000. In. Hours. And. Hours. I hate sanding, the inventor of sandpaper, his family, parents, grand parents, uber grand parents and all in his line back to Adam and Eve! The wooden parts are Tru-oiled for additional protection.

Some building pics:

1) printed and cut out my Lobster design downscaled to 90% and sketched it on a plate of white corian:

4) Epoxy-glued some kirinite and wood to the first side:

Dear Sepponaut!

For the reason of telling me that i stink,
I must admit that I can't help to acknowledge
the fact that looking at those pictures my nose
is trying to report the vague perception of some
sort of smell.

Somehow..

Please let me know if you wish some more precise comment.

;)

Kind regards to the land of ladders!

Very showy! When you make one for someone else and you would rather keep it, that is a sign that you have done well. ;)

@Be: Remembering your "nasal" sound of our last phone call... please go ask your wife if you really stink! YOU won't smell anything with your cold! Bless you! And I hope you like it! Slowly learning and getting better in what I do. I am talking drinking beer and eating! :)

See you soon!

Sepp

Thx! St. Pauli is a district of Hamburg. It's a famous red light and party mile. The football club is located there aswell.

Thx! It was about time I am back to building! It felt like20 years without a slingshot. I was an empty shell! But nooooow.....

Thank you! Yep, I really am. It's the first time I really had the patience to sand and sand and sand and sand and sand. I had to. Kirinite looks horrible if you don't polish it to death! F*cking expensive, but awsome material!

Impressive Seppman!
Thank you, sir! I learned a lot from your builds!

I don't say it too often but this is functional art, a masterpiece. Great work Seppman!
I really like the process photos.

Amazing!
Thanks a lot! Those words from one of the awsome natty builders mean a lot to me!

Very nice, Sepp!
Thank you, Drew. Nothing compared to your stuff! But sooooon... soooon! :)

I thought so. I used to live in Hamburg. I can't remember which part, that was 15 years ago.

Can't wait till I get home and look at it embiggened on my computer. Though even on my phone it looks gorgeous Sepp. The kirinite (the name sounds almost magical!) looks amazing, man.
Thanks a lot. The first 5 pics are originall shot in 4k2k, the building pics are just done with the smartphone cam.
Kirinite is some awsome stuff to work with. Amazing colours and patterns available. It's some compressed plastics stuff with resin components and can easily be worked with any woodwoorking tools. The only problem with this stuff is: its about 850-1000€ per m² !!! That's why it is mainly used to make knive handles and come in really small sizes at 120x40mm! :/
