I like the biggest one in the bottom pic... only cause I want to carve it into something smaller

I must have at least 30 similar forks lying around waiting to be carved up...

You've been forking off I see. Ha! I don't look at shrubbery or brush piles the same anymore. Give a shout or pm if you want some leather or rubber.

That looks nice, man. I like the small plain ones. Like a Rufus Hussy (R.I.P.) Derringer. I've been having a lot of fun with this little Dogwood RHD (Rufus Hussy Derringer) that's banded up with 107 office rubber bands. Semi butterfly.

k

Nice looking fork. When you say ironwood, do you mean a small to medium sized tree, with slick hard, grey bark and Birch looking leaves and knawrly, muscular looking branches?

If so, it might also be know as American Hornbeam. Here a link to the best picture I could Google up.
Carpinus caroliniana—American Hornbeam

Wiki - Hornbeam

That's a whole fist full of fork. There's no telling what's hiding in that thing.

I like how in your last photo, RobertP, that you can see my hand in a post on the screen behind the fork. If I'm in a post, in a post, does that mean I've been incepted. Noooo!

A few twigs heading for the skip there. . . .but its not all bad. The trouble is if you don't sell them you will likely cut them down for sheath material or for firewood. I don't go for any y shaped cut offs that aren't 50-100mm purely for creative purpose.
