Thanks guys! the stripes are the cracks that appeared during the drying process. I filled them with a mixture of ebony sawdust and epoxy. First i sanded the cracks smooth with a folded piece of sand paper, than I mixed the sawdust with the glue and poured it into the cracks. After the epoxy had hardened i sanded it down and treated it with linseed oil. After that those ebony stripes had their nice dark black color

lighter bands or heavier ammo will probably do the job

Ok i had the problem solved by filing the fork tips to accept over the top band attachment.. works quite well almost no handslap.

this black line looks good! nice idea!
and a smart OTT Solution, i like this one much.

my guess because of the handslaps is the heavy leather with the brass rings and this big cord connection!

my experience is that a light leather makes less handslaps, because there is not so much energy inside, that energy draws the rubber to the frontside after the shot and gives you handslaps!

i recommend you this OTT solution with a kangaru leather and you have sure no handslaps with this green tubes.

    Thanks!
what does OTT mean? I have no idea ^^

jeah that leather is really not really good but I wanted to make it sturdy and a little oldschool looking with that brass
if I have the chance to get some i will use kangaroo leather.
but for sure, the lighter the pouch the less energy is lost...
