I am sure a lot of you have heard mention of the rubber sheet that comes from the Mcmaster Carr company. What you may not know is that they carry several other products that could be of interest to people who make or shoot slingshots.

Some of the products of interest I have found on the website include:

latex rubber film

steel balls

rotory cutters and cutting mats

leather strips

micarta and g10 boards (search for garolite, it's the industrial version)

I'm sure there are more that I haven't found yet. Most of them are very reasonably priced. I just ordered 100 1/2" steel balls, 250 3/8" steel balls, and 2 yards 6" wide of the .025 (equivilent to theraband gold) latex film. My total after shipping was about $30 and it shipped the same day I ordered. Unless someone knows of a source I don't, $8 per 100 pack of 1/2" steel is the best deal I have found.

As Joerg has mentioned, I don't believe they ship outside the U.S. Also the website does not calculate the shipping charge before you place your order. It is added on when they charge you, but it seems to be about actual cost.

Well, I live in the U.S. and so do a lot of other people. You can buy things from wherever you want, but for those of us who are looking for good deals in the states this is a good place to buy. I don't the fact that a business doesn't cater to your personal needs necessarily makes them "douche bags". I do appreciate you being so helpful though.

well at least change the title too : "slingshot supplies for americans in USA " so as not to mislead us all and waste our time. especially the canadian guys who can actually go all the way through the whole order process only to receive and email saying , sorry. we only deal with established customers.

that was a kick in the nuts.

Happened to me, too - but fortunately I have friends who live in the US.

I don't blaim McMaster. I have shipped slingshots (mostly prizes) to many different countries, and between 5 and 10% of them get lost. That is no fun.

I agree the guys at smallparts are good, though. I've ordered a lot of latex and gum sheet from them on amazon. I had one order where they shipped the wrong stuff, but they were super fast making it right and didn't charge me any shipping to send it back or get the new stuff. Can't beat that.
