I plan to make two of each part and assemble a set of slingshot dueling pistols.

Heres the design

    Nice drawings!

I don't fully understand your lock and trigger mechanism, but I advise you not to use the rollers that way.

Rollers that run downwards allow a more narrow design, but they make the bands go in strange directions. The ammo will fly in unpredictable ways. Also, it will be very hard (even dangerous) to cock the weapon, as the rubber will be under strain and you have to put the pouch behind the ball against that draw.

If you want rollers, then by all means use them the way I did on my bullpup crossbow. And at least attach a stirrup method so you have both hands to cock the weapon.

Good luck anyway!

I wouldn't know how to design it myself; but if you could make the release mechanism actually look like the cock from a flintlock, it would be awesome!

Thanks! I did not know this. Thank you for the advice. Do you know of a good way to extend the draw without using rollers or chafing the rubber (TB gold)? And I plan to use a two pronged hook to cock the weapon. The ammunition is held with a magnet and is put it after the weapon is cocked (probably through a hole directly above the magnet) so i assume it will be safe unless the trigger gives away

I commented on your blunderbuss video suggesting you make one of these and you linked me to your pirate pistol which i thought awesome but part of my goal for this project is to make a pistol that looks and feels like a real one when you point and shoot with one hand

I drew the trigger mechanism more clearly. It should work. and Fortunenglory i may add a little hammer just for looks that would attach to the rotating lock. Just so it looks like the hammer had something to do with the firing

I am sorry to say that, but I don't think this mechanism will work for you.

The ball needs to be behind the block, too, with the pouch pressing against it. Otherwise the pouch will fold in under the pressure and very often not catch the ball correctly.
