The potential problem I see with braided bands is that since latex is so "grippy," there might be a lot of abrasion between the individual strips within the braid, possibly leading to excessive wear and failure. I don't know for sure if this is the case. It's just something that <i>may</i> be an issue. I could be totally wrong, though. <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_scratch.png" alt="scratch" longdesc="33">

So i made a quick sample out of my first damaged bands. (i know,no Thera band)<br>A little bit stretched looks like<br><a href="http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=12&u=17793509" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i39.servimg.com/u/f39/17/79/35/09/band10.jpg" border="0" alt=""></a><br><br>Unstretched it looks like it was lying a week on the highway.<br><br><a href="http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=13&u=17793509" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i39.servimg.com/u/f39/17/79/35/09/band210.jpg" border="0" alt=""></a><br><br>But the power isn´t bad as it seems.<br>You have more material on the same length

I'm with the others in thinking the bands are going to bind together because they're tightly packed together. However, how about if you were to coat the bands in lube first, then weave? Pretty tough to weave a slick rubber band though.
