I have a natural on the go with a similar design but it is unimpressive to see compared to this.

The natural doesnt have the thumb fork I just realized... but it is still a decent shooter.

I've come to realize that plywood of any sort is a perfect medium for deeply contoured forks, if not as a final product, then as a prototype to show the form more effectively than solid wood.

I just used some old furniture grade birch to test out a design, and decided to just make it again with intentions to paint it to cover some unavoidably ugly glue joints.

Did you use a thin superglue that sort of soaked in or a thicker one to actually build up a layer?

I built up a layer using thin actually, and sanding back down... I feel the same way with the ply wood, this is a great example... and interestingly enough I debated on making these for productions for special orders, in other exotics woods though... Anyone can feel free to make their own obviously though

This particular model is suited to my hand and fingers perfectly, the index finger controls all aim on this slingshot... very neat, but heavy bands I'm not sure what kinds of control that amounts to. I like it for butterfly shooting plinking thus far.

These are matching pairs and should have the same design in the wood, I split the board and laminated it with gorilla glue to some fake hardwood. It is a pain in the ass to sand these hard wood maples down with normal sand paper :S
