I've seen loads of videos on youtube of rubber band guns that use a cog and trigger with two hooks, that rotate the cog one tooth each time the triggers pulled, and fire a band of the top tooth, and I was wondering if anyone had ever tried to make one with sling shot rubber and a ball behind each tooth, or would it be unlikely to work

cheers

theoretically it will work. but you have to shoot the rubber also, i'm afraid. otherwise the bands would be in the line of fire. it seems to me that it wouldn't be very handy to load/cock these kind of systems.

of course, you'll have to make pits on the backside of each tooth. depending on the model it's also most likely that the ball will hit the point where the rubber was hooked in.

What if the rubber was attached lower on the front of the gun and bent over a higher bar, then as each shot is fired the rubber should swing out of the way of the following shots, not sure if that makes sense I might have to draw a picture

I have seen the Gatling gun on your Youtube channel, and its awesome, probably my second favourite of your inventions just behind the double barrel christmas tree style rifle, but I wondered if it might be possible to make a smaller one handed version, although I also wonder if there was any way to multiply its capacity, by adding more pegs on each barrel and then using a piece of ribbon to lift the ball off the peg, there's a video on Youtube with a rubberband Gatling gun that uses the same principle

I think you might be right there, I tried to do a doodle of what I ment in paint and as I was making it, it looked like the higher bar would cause the ball and rubber to pendulum and misfire, I was going to upload it to photobucket for a second opinion but my laptops not letting me

the video was 504 rounds motorised Gatling gun, I don't think it would be possible to make a ball launcher with that high a capacity, but if you had an 8 or 10 barrel gun, and each barrel could fire 3, 4 or maybe 5 balls you could produce some insane destruction really quickly

lol. same kind with steelballs would be huuuge! not impossible, but as i said, you'd have to shoot the bands too. the cord lifts up the pouch with ammo. but guess how long it would take to load. this guy needed 30 minutes to load with just rubberbands.
