Anyone used Broom, the plant, for a SS?

http://www.shim.bc.ca/invasivespecies/_private/scotchbroom.htm

On the 10 year plan to rid our property of it. It takes over and crowds out the native plants.

Cut a bunch of "Y's" and have them drying in a drawer. Bark peels off clean and easy when fresh. Wood is creamy and quite hard.
BTW

I have a few on my property as well, and I should cut them down. Let us know how it goes, maybe I should keep the bigger parts. Sadly I had a few holly trees getting into my Hydro wires, I cut them down last year just before I got into slingshots. Only now I find out holly makes excellent forks.

I'll post as soon as I finish one. I'll let you know how it dries too. I guess it's not as prevalent elsewhere as it is here. It's a real problem.
