    Hi All,

Here is my new frame :) I made an experiment of a TTF with a weird groove :D.

Made of Shagbark Hickory. Inspiration comes from the shape of a Roe and it's antler. 500 grit, BLO, Terpentine and beeswax. Grooves made with round files and a Dremmel.

Needs a longer piece (20cm) for wrapping the band. A lighter 5mm width TBBlack is the best. Pretty comfortable.

Carving Hickory is not the easiest, the wood is firm. The inside is a bit soft. Bark is tough if you can't remove it ASAP, while it's fresh. Wood can be teared out if carved too heavily. It's dangerous at details, but sanding is always worth...

It's really gracile / thin. Built only for target bands 1TBG.

Hope you like it folks :)

Excellent work Tremo! I haven't seen anything like this before, totally unique. The band attachment is very clever. Have you found that it holds securely?
    Love this shooter, great job!

Thank you Will for this question!

It needs careful wrapping. Thin layer TB Black was the best with a really long stripe. The upper part of the groove must be deeper (to avoid pull down) and have to keep the concave curvature for the wrap groove all along (that was the hardest part during carving) or the attachment will be not so tightened. I tested it and it's working, but if the band is too strong (wide or double) it's not so fine, but for a light band it's ok! Since the frame is built for target shooting it's not a problem.

Achso_42, artons Thank you mates :)

Beautiful one! So delicate design! Seems to be born on the head of a deer indeed! You said that the wood is soft inside. Do you think it can handle the tension of the band without tearing the attachment part for the fork? Seems strong on the picture, but you did the woodworking, so you will know better.
