Hi,
I started an experiment with tubes today.
You all know the pseudo tapered tubes (those with a sling which doubles the tubes)
I always thinking about making my own real tapered tubes.
Here it is, two tubes (same size) stick into each other.
Works also with different tube sizes.

wie hast du denn den übergang so fliessend hingekriegt? das sie aus wie aus einem stück
Now that is creative! Nice thinking!

What does the theraband do? ... just kidding

Here another pic.

Looks like there are three different tube sizes but its all the same 4064.

Think the tube experiments I do need to be proved with a....chrony
@ Arturo,
I bended the inner tube with cord and a constrictor knot.
Slip the cord throug the outer tube.
Then I draw on the cord to slip the inner tube (it`s getting thinner when streched) throug the outer one.
This is a annoying work.
Next time I will try a compressor method for the last step.
I don`t want to use any lubricant.
@Zwillie ... I did that question because I was worried about using lube ... the dry method you used I believe grants no draw internal slippery ... did you stretched the tubes ?
Cheers
Arturo
I streched the inner one, so it fits in the hole of the outer one.
The outer one should not be streched, the inner diameter would shrink.
Just "push" the outer one.
Interesting, I wonder how it will work. I suspect that the inner tube will slide in the outside tube even when you didn't use any lube. Maybe what about securing the end with some knot?

Great idea Zwillie!
You said you used a cord to get the inner one in the other, ok, but i don' t get how you took the cord off of it
@ Arturo,

Oh yes I streched it to the maximum drawlength, no problems.

I did a marking on the outer tube and streched it, so I could see noo slipping.
For the second tube I used silicon spray and this inner tube slips.

@ toksick,

I draw the inner tube completely through the outer tube and so I got the bended end outside and cut it off.
Hehe I thought about the same when starting this tapering.
How about pumping the external tube with air and putting in the freezer for a couple of mins so it looses its stretching ability? It should be wider for just a couple of secs when you take it out, that way you could probably slip the inner tube in easier, right?

Try using rubbing alcohol as a lubricant. It should help, but it will evaporate and not cause slipping later.

"non impediti ratione cogitationis"

Arturo I have to warn you.
The fun to draw the tubes inside each other is the same as sanding micarta.

@ von_z2,
thank you the alcohol thing I have to try out

When I got my chrony I will be able to make some measurements of the speed.
But....

....when the cash runs out before the month does
