I was thinking about trying to make a slingshot pump action slingshot like joerg did but different and would appreciate some constructive criticism. :)

Red= slide
Yellow= rubber
Blue= spring
Purple= spring
Red= place to enter steel balls
Dark green= trigger mechanism
Light green= steel balls

    I was planing to do something very similar. My design is very much the same.
Problem I saw: How are the balls going to be fed into the chamber? I was unaware that there are actually springs that can extend from 1cm to about 20cm. So I planned to put the magazine on top and gravity feed them. Today I saw that there are such springs with a long extension. Only have to find out now where to buy them and them.

I dont want to use paracord but more of a plunger to accelerate the balls. I heard that paracord can slip underneath the ball and jam. The plunger will be made out of really light wood and be stopped from rubber bands wraped around the outside.

Lots of issues you have to solve.

Trigger design won't work. Cocking won't work. Sear mechanics won't work. Spring loaded magazine won't work.

Don't give up, solve one problem after the other. Repeating action is tricky but doable.

    Ok, i've changed the slide to where it might work, ditched the spring loaded magazine(might find a solution later) and changed the length of the rubber.

    I'll just make it a breach loader and be done with it and i might try to make it in a few weeks. I have exams at the moment. :L

    A repeating slingshot crossbow is like the holy grail of the trade. It took me a long time to master it. So many things you must consider. It is a good idea to start smaller!

    How about this.....Feel free to shoot the idea full of holes, no worries. Might work though.....

As the man himself said, they aren't easy. Lots of the working parts on a repeating crossbow are nearly identical to modern firearm parts. (The sear especially) Though shooting round ammo over arrows makes it a bit easier to design the tube or magazine.

    Better now, but still many flaws.

- trigger sear is way too weak
- trigger sear won't allow the slide to press it down when cocking
- slide notch will break, too weak
- balls will roll down the barrel when the slide is all the way back
- Band setup (inside metal tube) is critical, not enough room, band will entangle and jam - you need a fork and a slotted barrel iinstead.

Take a look at this video of mine, from 4:00 onwards you can see the moving parts of my (well functioning) pump action weapon.

  11. Those are the actual internals you went with? I'm so making one now, I have been racking my brain with ideas to make it work, never thought to make what is basically a 2 piece trigger like you did. Absolutly brilliant boss man, I am adding this to my to-do list.
