Because of the detailed blueprints and a helpful video, I chose this as my first slingshot attempt. Being in the USA, I had to adapt from metric to imperial, but it wasn't a problem. Note that I did away with the trigger guard; it was easier than tying a knot in the rubber band that holds it forward. Unfortunately, I found that the screws that guide the slider dig into the plywood veneers and jam, preventing me from being able to smoothly rearm after firing. I have a couple of ideas in mind: either small metal plates epoxied into a dado on the slider, or some kind of smooth round brad in place of the screws. But for now, here it is.

    That's a beauty for sure.

I think I can relate to your problem with the guides--after sanding the long slots for more time than I care to grieve over my first pump back ate it all away. So excited to get shooting-- I spent too little time on the guide screws. When I get time to fix it I have some shoulder bolts to cut the heads off and try.

I used three layers of 1/2 inch "furniture grade" ply from the big box store and it is on the soft side, and not void free. Where did you get yours?

The nuts I bought are a bit too thick to use 3/8 ply, and my 1/2 inch ply is .470, but mine works in spite of this sloppiness. Shock me and say there's a planer keeping those other handsome tools company:D

If I make another wooden one I will plane the center board at my dads house before I cut it out.

Something tells me other nice stuff begins in that shop too...
