I've made this one without any power tools. And very slowly, so it took about 2 months to get it done. The fork came from an unknown name tree, that I found with my fionce's nephew Julio (on the same day that I smashed my thumb with a stone and never more shot those craps).
Finished with peroba oil and carnaúba wax.
The shape totally came out from the fork itself. The blueprint was created based on the fork, but the final result came different from it.
the palswell had a natural inclination, tha I preserved, so it could fit very nice in the hand.
I just can't go anywhere without it. I don't like letting anyone touch it. It's mine! MINE!

I must say that it came somehow lopsided, but it is a very accurate shoote. I banded it with Arturo's band recipe and I'm practicing half butterfly style. great results!
As for the tools, my bandsaw is comming, and so my beltsander. I think I'll get faster and reach new horizons on building slingshots!!
my doctor said that I can come back on woodworking, so I think I'll be sending you a package next week!:D

great work BV! it seems like a rock solid wood, i can understand why it took so long :)
don't worry about a little asymmetry, it won't affect the performance, in fact it seems a very precise slingshot!
thanks for sharing your precioussss ;)

It's very nice, and I bet a good shooter ... seems it can be shoot with finger/hook grip, I like over hammer grip even with rather heavy bands, it gives much more fine control position and less torque on your wrist, with lighter rubber you may explore the lazy grip I use which in my opinion works better than a strong stressed "shaking" grip ...
    Cheers

BV, that slingy looks finer than a new set of snow tires. Glad to hear that you turned to the dark side (belt sander, band saw), you will be much faster. My belt sander is bench mounted so I use it much like you use your planer, flattening both sides then letting the wood decide what blue print. Sander replaced rasp and file for me and takes just minutes...more forks in less time:D.
