Hey ive been fascinated with slingshots for a while now but ive only owned a wrist brace "wrist rocket" with surgical tubing lol .
my knowledge of slingshots was very limited but has grown . i always thought that the power that could be had was very high
but now looking at figures of the bullup joerg has made its brags a draw weight of 80lbs... i know it is incredible that joerg can make that and im not trying to put it down i still think its awesome
but a relatively cheap crossbow from the markets with 80lb draw can be had for quite cheap

i know the power doesn't necessarily boil down to draw weight
its mostly on ft pounds?/ energy?
can i get some figures that help add it up? are slingshots not as powerful as i thought?
the bolts with that crossbow are pretty light too... so im not sure atm

Wow. didnt wanna seem like a fanboy but i didnt expect a response from you joerg lol you peaked my interest in slingshots/crossbows to be honest
and i really loved your flechette ammo for sling shot (side note- you can incorporate that into slingxbow?)

uhm the link you provided says " A 45 lbs slingshot crossbow can achieve as much energy as a commercial high end 175 lbs model"
the energy will be high but due to low fps the projectile will dropoff fairly fast?

thats what my main concern is and is pushing me into getting a 12ft/lb airgun instead of a slingshot/slingxbow

For a slingshot crossbow, distances of about 30 to 40 meters aren't a problem.

hmm that's a fairly long shot, well it would be for me. at that distance the target would have to be shoebox sized for me to realistically be able to hit it consistently.
