Hello everyone,

I'm in my last year of highschool at the moment and I have to make a science project, or more a physics project and I chose: Projectile Weapons with slingshots in mind.

does anyone know any interesting (physics) tests that I could do as experiments? I will do tests of tapered and untapered bands, penetration tests vs ballistic gelatine and the influence of temperature on the rubber bands.
Just interesting ideas (or tests that you already did and I can redo with my slingshot, if you give me permission to do so)for slingshots/slingbows/bows/catapults etc., I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thanks in advance! (and I apologise for my bad english)

Pieter from Belgium.

    Great project.

You can compare different ammo. Or compare different rubber.

You should really do the heating experiment with a scale attached to a stretched band. Its really cool.

Oh, and folded rubber versus multiple layers. And shooting to light ammo with to strong rubber!

I cant stop myself, slingshot-science is just so much fun!

thankfully for us, Joerg has done all these experiments and more good luck tho! reference his videos and you can get all the data you like on these topics... not much more that Joerg can do with them, but im sure he will think of something

Thanks for all the usefull info already!

I will make sure to test all these factors, as I love slingshot science myself
