k you can only use a knife. maxim 2 blades. You can use low grit sandpaper. of course a hand saw to trim the branches and cut the fork of the tree. no shaping can be done with the saw. you can stain with a clear stain. no coloring as in ink or paint. no carpeting jacks can be used. Ask questions if unclear. oh and send a picture of the fork and knife you used. You can only us 1 knife for the whole construction.
look forward to your entrys

Will try, but probably not within the next few days. My hand has to heal first.

OK, so in spite of my wounded finger, here is my attempt.

I only used the pocket knife blade, the exacto blade wasn't opened. No saw, no sandpaper. Just the knife.

I used it on one of the uglier European Dogwood (cornus sanguinea) forks I harvested last year, now nice and dry.

Cut off the forks

Cut of the handle, and evened out the thickness of the fork arms

Basic shape done

After the smoothing (scrubbing technique). Note how the harder parts of the wood stand out, a side effect of that technique.

Banded up with some TBG

This small fork can be shot

a) in hammer grip
b) in thumb+index finger support grip
c) in Thumb-against-the-fork grip

I will probably use the file and sandpaper later on, to show the difference. But the frame is smooth the way it is right now.
