    Hey guys!!

There is some "Magic Rubber" on the way BrazilViking kindly sent me
so since I haven't made a slingshot for myself in a while I decided it was time!
    To honor the occasion!

I have named it Knut one of my favorite names from the "Vikings" series and obviously from BV nickname.

When the rubber arrives I will band it for the first time and make a video!

    I hope you like it!

What a beauty, Saderath! It something about all your slingshots, they look so... perfect! Great job!

And by the way, the 'Vikings'-tv series has now aired in Sweden! Follows it with great interest every thursday, the third episode launches thursday next week. It's funny how they pronounce Knut's name in the tv-series... More like Ka'nout than Knut, I think :)

I love the red lines in the grain, and the curve it has in profile looks very comfortable.

    Thanks guys!

Failureisalwaysanoption : Isn't it a great series? :D I think it comes down to the pronunciation. The letter K would have been "Ka" in the Viking days whereas now it is "Kay"

Wow, it is curvy on the side view...and perfectly symetrical..... Is it manzanita? What an amazing piece! I hope the bands are up to it!

I was wondering the same thing as BV about the Manzanita - I got a Manzanita sling from Dolomite in the last trade, and this wood looks very similar in color and grain. It's a beauty as usual Saderath, you really have a talent for crafting these naturals.

    Thanks guys!

It is a Koumaria fork, it is bush like tree and this time of year bears fruit which look like strawberries.

Because of this it falls in to the category of a Strawberry Tree.

    Similar species
    Koumaria, Koumara, Pacific Madrone, Madrona.

    Latin name Arbutus unedo

    Cheers

Yes, it rocks :) We all watch it at the dorm, it's the best day in the week lol :D

Really? I tought K would have been pronounced "Kå" (Å is pronounced like the o in doctor), as in modern Scandinavian languages, I guess I have to improve my viking-knowledge :D

Medronheiro, in portuguese! No Koumaria in Brazil.
Actually I don't recognize most of the wood you guys always use..... Seems like I live in another planet!

Thank you all for your great comments!

    I would be my pleasure!

I am really happy you are enjoying the slingshot my friend! :D

It is really hard to find a natural like Knut that has a natural curve in it and can be carved into the desired shape!
