Hello mates! I've been working too much, and got to many unfinished projects. This is about to change, because I'm on vacation in one of my jobs, wich means....SLINGSHOT BUILDING FOR A MONTH!!! (in fact, only 2 days a week):D

Where was I....oh, yeah, old school! On the parking lot of a clinic where I work there is a tree...fruit tree in fact, invasive species from Asia, "hovenia dulcis" known here as Japanese grape, see the pictures below.
For 3 weeks I got my eye on a nice little thin fork very acessible (the tree has 15 meter height), but I was ashamed to ask to the car keeper dude to cut it.....untill he parked my car and left lights on, wich caused my batteries to die!

He was so afraid of a complain to his manager (I'd never do it....sh#t happens) that I found the perfect momento to ask..

"It may sound a little crazy, but while you charge my car, can I cut that branch of that tree?"
    "Ahhhh.........uhhhhh.....ok, sir!"

Fork cut, car charged, I went to the other job..... First surgery delayed.... Time to remove the bark!!!!
After first surgery.....wow, a microwave on the cafeteria? Dry it!!!

after some work at home, a good old school badass shooter was born.
    :D:D:D:D

And pictures of my top model for slingshots!(very hard to make her stand still!)

The wood seems like plastic after sanding on 600 grit. There is no finish on it (yet...calm down...I'll add some lineseed oil).
    Resistant as steel!:D

    Super-Classic Natural.
    Great Job.

Those fruit look very strange. Are they eatable?

VERY eatable! Sweet, juicy and crunchy!
The wood has a deep yellow mate, brown smooth grain and those circles on the section od the tips

Beautiful natural, and I like that wood! Well done, Sir! I'm curious if that wood is suitable for furniture projects- a piece that small it's hard to tell what the core grain properties are.

We get so involved in laminating, pinning and such that the true beginning gets lost. Thanx for bringing this to us. Good sturdy lookin' shooter.

I would have sworn that fruit was poison by the looks! Don't judge a book by its cover I guess.

    Enough of kind words!

    Hey BV,

That shooter is nice! pretty nice!
But I wonder if you are.. mh.. intelligent at all?
YOU GAVE IT TO PATELA! Now you got a problem:
until I saw that pic of her with her new slingshot
I thought you were intelligent, and for dogs matching
their keepers, Patela is a smart dog!- she can´t shoot,
right? But she wont let the slingy go!
Now you will have to cook something for her as distraction..

    When Hijacking goes wrong... :)

Next time you better take care!

    kind regards,

    Be

P.s.: Was that "wheel" where people learned to "fly" what I have on
my mind? (A Backpfeifenmaschine" or "Slap-O-matic?)
