Currently I have some bigger projects which take more work than planned.

So I thought to myself in between times to make a small slingshot for my soul and just for fun.

During my walks through the local hardware stores, I discovered this:

    Kiste.jpg

Oak wedges, with a nice grain. Some were broken, but others were in a very good condition.
Those wedges are 20 cm to 8 cm. They cost 69 cent.

I draw a quick outline on the wedge and saw out the contour.

After some rough sanding some oiling and wax finish, this is what I found inside of this small piece of wood.

It is a very good target shooter for 10 mm stealball

All in all this was the work of an evening.

I have done a lot of those small and quick projects and I thought I want to share this one with you.

    I hope you like it...:)

Great job on that frame! GREAT buy on that box of wedges, too. Running into a box of usable hardwood pieces like that for a pocket change price is one of my recurring dreams. Kind of like my other recurring dream involving some of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders -- a great dream, but it just doesn’t ever happen in real life.

L Dub, the things you come up with are amazing! Who'd think a sweet lil shooter was hiding there like a stow away, well I guess you would;). Oak is one of my favorite woods, I'm glad to see how many people here respect it properly, so many just use it because its strength( bar stools, chairs, etc) and stain it dark.

You got that beauty after a rough sanding! the mind boggles as to what magnificence could have been achieved if you'd gone the extra mile for a perfect finish! :D

another fantastic creation, and only an evenings work.... I think I need to have some stern words with my tools!
