We were shooting mirabelle fruits and it was a great fun After 30 minutes no bruises, black eyes or any injures at all. Just stains on our cloths
Last week one of my friends showed me a RAM pistol and gave me some ammo for that toy. I’ve tested it but too light: about 10mm plastic ball filled with orange paint (splash after hit looks pretty funny thou ).

I am wondering: has anyone try to shoot with the paintball ammo (about 17mm in diameter)?
Before I buy a box of it (minimum 2000 pieces ) I would like to know, if it will/won’t break in the pouch.
Cheers
Rafal

Paintball ammo is .68 cal, approx 17.2mm.

The secret is to have a pouch approx 80mm in length so you can grip the pouch in front of the paintball.

If you squeeze the paintball at all, it is very easy to break.

Have fun man!

If I remember correctly, Joerg has already featured the 'Aero bow' which was originally designed for paintball.

I have a few designs floating around that use the same principal with a few bits of inexpensive PVC and an O-ring.

I'll see if I can find them and post them up.

We used to play paint ball with slingshots back in the late 80s, early 90s. When paint ball first became popular, when I was in high school, no one could afford a real paint ball gun. We used slingshots and blow guns. They worked ok to pretty good. Soon the interested parties all bought marking guns. Looking back, I think that the slingshot style was more fun and required more actual skill. Plus if was a more even playing field. When every one had the marking guns, some people could afford better, more powerful, faster shooting, semi-auto, bigger magazine, constant air, special this and swoopty that. Then whoever could spend the most money would have an advantage. When everyone had just a slingshot you had to focus on the basics, accuracy, fast reloads, reloading while running, reloading while dodging, batting the balls away without breaking them, screaming obscenities while dodging and shooting and running, you know the basics.

Hypothetically, if you use a release or a trailing toggle, you can avoid gripping the pouch entirely. Note however I cannot be sure what you plan to do is safe and legal in your situation. Take all precautions.

I've used paintball ammo regularly on 'non-hit takers' whist marshalling at airsoft events out of a Barnet Black Widow, from all accounts it hurts like a bitch, and once someone has been tagged bright orange in the backside, they start saying 'hit' alot lol

Well Joerg presented a hard foldable pouch for shooting bbs in one of his videos, I don't remember what it was but I'm pretty sure that would do the trick.

I shoot with paintballs very often. I use hard Winter paintballs, which I can hardly break with two hands. Thera band black, tapered from 3cm to 2cm,large pouch full butterfly. Very fun to shoot and precise, too. Never played "slingshot-paintball" due to the lack of slingshoters in my area.

luckily im a paintball distributor :) but im on holidays

fragility depends on quality of the paintball

the cheaper one will do just fine, the weigt is normaly around 3 gramms per paintball

would be very intresting how much fps you gain from a slingshot

Paintball masks are approved up to 300fps safely

I think a slingshot can do 450 fps max. with 4:1 tapering, but the bands would just last 50 shots, so it is not usable for games. My combo maybe did around 150 fps.
