Hey folks. I've just finished up another 'Predator' clone. I hate to be unoriginal, but I just love the way that it shoots. This one has a cherry side and a Padauk / Tigerwood side that you can see in the photos. The forks are drilled through with a 1/4" bit, then drilled 2/3rds of the way in from the outside with a 3/8" bit. The flat bands are folded like an accordion and fed through from the inside, then doubled over, tied with fishing line and pulled back in. it makes a nice, tight mount that can also be set up for tubes. The purpose was to create an ambidextrous SS that I can easily hand off to a lefty. The finish is a buffing wax that I made myself from carnauba wax, bee's wax, vodka and mineral oil.

wonderful and cool attachement method too.

The inside of the hole I would round it a bit more, less friction for the bands.

great idea! right and lefthanded, bands and tubes with just two holes.

would it still fit in the holes when you first put a piece of tube over the bands to protect them?

How about a pic or two of the back side. Very unique glue up there.

Yup. About a cup of carnauna flakes, a half cup of bee's wax, a quarter cup of mineral oil and about a shot of vodka. Put them in a double boiler and melt, whisking them together until they are well blended and pour into an ice cube tray. Then pop the wax blocks out and have fun waxing. The vodka weakens the wax bonds and allows it to be smoother.

It seems to be holding up well. It's hard to tell from the photos, but the hole is rounded around the edges and it hasn't shown any sign of wear as of yet. It only took about a minute per side to mount the bands. We'll see how it holds up as I put more rounds through it.
