This is my second bow made from 3/4" schedule 40 PVC pipe with the limbs tapered in two separate locations. I like this style a lot... The credit has goes to BackyardBowyer again for a great design, this one is based off of his 25-30 pound hunger games bow.

It's lighter than my PVC recurve pulling about 30 pounds but It shoots great and It's really fun. The handle is also offset for more of a center shot.

I strung up It up with poly rope which i think works pretty well for cheap bowstring. I have watched many videos on how to make real bowstring but I will try that at a later time, I am just starting with archery...

The broadheads have also been cut out, roughly shaped and glued/tied in place with poly twine and super glue (the best I can do for now) I will see how they perform later. These are also based off the arrows Katniss used in the hunger games while hunting in district 12.

Once these are sharpened I think they will do just fine for target practice or hunting... The duct tape fletchings will eventually go and I will put real feathers on, and I will even wrap the broadheads on better with a thinner thread, most likely fast flight.

The video will come shortly after I learn how to upload It on here, Thanks for checking It out!!!
2. Very cool! I still have yet to finish mine, been working on a bunch of darts for a friend and helping another with some repair work around their house. I hope to be able to finish mine soon. Can't wait to see some videos of that thing in action!

That video was awesome! I haven't heard of that man yet but he sure is fast. He kept up with Legolas... that my friend is legendary.

I love archery, they say It's been around for over 60,000 years and I bet It will outlast gunpowder when all of the ammo is gone... And the only way I like to shoot is traditional, I can't wait to master the bow and arrow

I took the bow out to a field today and shot at a leaf bag placed 15 yards away. These wooden dowel arrows I made weigh 45-55 grams each, which is too heavy... some were going straight through the target. The two other arrows are fiberglass arrows that were found at a gun club weighing 25 and 35 grams each. The "Legolas" arrow I made last night seemed to be the worse arrow of the day, I think because It was heaviest with two layers of duct tape.

Here's some pics and also a video, Thanks everyone!

Video : http://youtu.be/gD0cmjCdWeQ

  9. He actally out shoots Legolas, it's insane! Nice bow and arrows, yeah those double tape fletched ones sound a bit heavy.

  10. I finally made a PVC Bow for my niece lastnight (no pics yet because no bow string or arrows yet), it's way to small for me to shoot but will work perfect for her (she's 6 lol)

Very nice looking bow. What kind of metal did you use for your broadheads? I've been planning on doing a PVC bow for a while, just haven't gotten the chance quite yet.You should check out Backyard Bowyer on youtube. That guy's got it going on with PVC bows.
